About me and this blog.

I'm a Norwegian girl who loves to travel.
I decided to start this little blog after someone asked why I didn't have a travel blog. After thinking about it for a bit I decided to give it a try. Since it seemed I'd actually inspired a few people with some of my travel tips and experiences maybe I could inspire some more here. So the blog "Shnettis på tur" was born, but I started using the phrase years before this blog was thought of, and it simply means Shnettis (a nickname I got from a friend in my teens) on a trip/walk/holiday. "Shnettis og Tessa på tur" is also a thing; things seem to go crazy when we're out and about together, and I write about trips with Tessa and other family members too. I've always liked taking photos as well, I think it's both the artistic aspect of it and the fact I love to document moments and capture memories. After starting this blog, and buying a better compact camera I really fell in love with it though. I've also expanded on my camera and photo toy collection in the last few years so there are a lot of photo galleries on this webpage as well. (For now I can't update them because I'm at my storage limit though.)

For a long time most of my travelling was done with my cousin and best friend, Therese (Tessa), or my mum, but relying on them wanting to see and do the same things as me started getting a bit frustrating. Not to mention them having the time and money (priority) for the same trips as me. I did also have people I could visit in some countires, but this wasn't really enough for me. So in 2017 I started traveling on my own. I started traveling in the UK and Ireland as I feel somewhat at home in these countries. And the language plays a part too. After having done a few British (and Irish) solo trips I started getting more used to it and in August 2018 I ventured outside of this comfortzone with a trip to the south of Europe, I was with a guided tour for most of the holiday but still did my own thing a lot. You can read all about it in the blogpost "Mediterranean". From here it just took off.

2019 was a great travel year for me.
I travelled with family, but also had a solo adventure. And I'm really glad I saw so much before the pandemic hit. I explored some places in Norway during the pandemic; I am truly lucky to live in such a beautiful country. But I'm happy to be travelling abroad and exploring the world again, while I also learn more about myself, push myself out of my comfortzone and evolve as a person.
